Nanny/Governess to assist family with 2 kids under 10 – occasional travel involved! (PLRP)

Fulltime permanent LIVE OUT role for a switched-on professional Nanny/Governess.  We seek a highly organised and positive-minded nanny to look after two primary school aged children.  The successful applicant will demonstrate her investment in the role with qualifications and experience to suggest that they are a career Nanny.

The Principals want to employ a proactive person who plans ahead and takes a keen interest in developing the children’s talents and interests.  It is important that the Nanny provides activities are stimulating and varied and does not allow too much ‘tablet time’!  Part of your role would be taking the children to various activities and being forthcoming with suggestions to the Principals for appropriate entertainment for the children.

The successful candidate will need to be able to travel internationally as the principals travel worldwide and occasionally bring the children or may take them on overseas holidays and the nanny is required to accompany the children.  Whilst travelling you would LIVE IN or accommodation would be provided close by.  

Main aspects of the role:

  • Preparation for school: uniform, lunch, and drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Supervise homework and preparation for the next day
  • Bathing/evening routine
  • Research, suggest and provide age-appropriate activities and pastimes that are educational and interesting.
  • Planning children’s activities and sports
  • Help to instil good manners and give appropriate discipline
  • Teach independent life skills: bed making, keeping rooms clean
  • Run errands, occasional shopping for groceries etc.
  • Cooking simple but healthy children’s meals: involve them and foster their independence
  • Occasional housekeeping/tidying up involved
  • Ad hoc tasks: family assistance, evening babysitting.  

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have impeccable references from past employers
  • Have appropriate child care qualifications
  • Have a background in Education - preference will be given to candidates with this but this is not a strict requirement
  • Hold a current clean Driver’s License
  • Hold a current Working With Children Card
  • Hold a current Police Check
  • Very experienced with children of primary school age
  • Able to cook healthy meals for the children and incorporate any dietary requirements
  • Have a positive attitude and flexible outlook
  • Fluent in English: spoken and written
  • Confidential and discreet
  • Be a self-starter who is highly organised
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Upbeat personality
  • Be well-presented and well-mannered

Hours/Days: Full-time – days/hours to be confirmed.  Please note: This is a live-out role but the successful candidate will occasionally be required to travel with the family so needs to maintain a current passport.

Start: end Jan/Feb 2019

Salary: Will be negotiated with the successful applicant and dependent upon experience.
