Housekeeper/House Manager/Mum’s Assistant for family in Vaucluse - FTHM (Would suit ex yacht crew!)

A family of five with three primary age children (6, 9 and 11) and a Spoodle, is seeking full-time assistance from a great all-rounder with strong communication skills who will be able to help manage their home affairs and be available on weekends if required.  You will be provided with a car for use when running errands (shopping, school pick-ups) as well as a mobile phone if required.

 

Being a full-time position, your duties will cover all the aspects of keeping the home clean and your eye for detail will ensure all areas are beautifully presented.  Laundry, ironing, linens, vacuuming, mopping and maintaining high standards will be expected, together with management of other areas such as organising cupboards, storage rooms, stocking the pantry and fridge and organising wardrobes.

 

You will assist Mum in preparing school lunches for the three children, assisting in simple meal preparation for healthy school lunches, after school snacks and dinners. Helping to get the children organised for the next day (keeping track of school items / schoolbooks, homework and assignments, extra-curricular activities and uniforms associated with all), shopping errands including dry cleaning and post-office duties, and helping with school activities such as scheduling, marking homework and occasional drop-off and pick-up.  Preparing for school camps or packing/unpacking for travel will also be required.

 

Someone with great interpersonal skills and experience in hospitality would be greatly appreciated to assist with greeting visitors to the home and to offer a helping hand with light entertaining at the home.

 

Should you be looking for a live-in role, there is separate pied a terre accommodation available at the property.

 

We are seeking someone with the following attributes:

 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in private housekeeping/ house management
  • Fast learner with a strong eye for detail
  • Have management as well as housekeeping experience (liaison with gardeners/contractors, organise repairs, etc)
  • Self-motivated, good initiative and able to follow direction
  • Excellent Housekeeping and Laundry skills
  • Be detail oriented with strong organisational skills
  • Be comfortable with their dog
  • Efficient under the pressure of a busy domestic household
  • Have previous hospitality/service experience (an advantage)
  • Drivers License a must

 

Successful candidates will be strong communicators, kind and hardworking, experienced, a non-smoker, an Australian citizen, hold a WWCC and current Police Check.

 

Salary:   A$85,000 - $90,000 (including Superannuation and Leave Entitlements) Depending on Experience

 

Hours:   Monday to Friday approx. 10am – 6pm + some weekend/evening work with given notice.
