Housekeeper/Cook for large family residence in Vaucluse - MODM

A busy family of four with a magnificent residence in the harbour side suburb of Vaucluse, is seeking a permanent part-time housekeeper who is well versed with not just housekeeping but meal preparation and cooking.  Your main focus will be on housekeeping duties including laundry duties, cleaning and caring for various intricate items in the home, so previous experience in a similar role is required.

The family consists of busy working (mostly from home) parents and two school aged children, as well as  5 dogs (2 outside dogs) so you MUST be an animal lover,

General duties will include:

• Cleaning, dusting, vacuuming of all areas, floors, bathrooms, etc
• Family laundry, ironing,
• Tidying and organising
• Occasional grocery shopping and other errands
• Working together with the Principal in regard to weekly meal planning/preparation,
• Ensuring kitchen is kept clean and organised,
• Working closely with the House Manager to ensure all duties are carried out with the utmost attention to detail,
• Occasional assistance when Principals are entertaining.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a very high attention to detail
• Be well-versed with food preparation and cooking as required
• Have good communication skills
• Be self-motivated and have a positive attitude
• Be familiar with correct cleaning techniques and laundry care
• Have previous long-term experience
• Hold a Current Police Check and WWCC (or be prepared to complete)
• Have good references from past employers

Hourly rate: $35 - $40 per hour DOE  

Hours: 8am – 2pm Monday to Friday

Start Date: ASAP

This is a long term, permanent position.
