House Manager and Maintenance/Groundsman (possible couple) wanted for Private Residence in Sydney – RBMM

This magnificent newly built residence on the shores of Sydney Harbour is seeking full-time staff to manage and oversee all aspects of the home.

The House Manager/Housekeeper will run the house and manage a program to do that. You will need to have an exceptional high standard and the ability to manage contractors and follow up to make sure they are delivering.

Ideally this person would manage a maintenance schedule for the house and engage the right people to do that.  The house will contain Art, Sculptures, silk rugs and other valuable items. The House Manager would need experience in how to maintain and clean such standard of items.

This person will be in charge or the cleaner, the chef and the ironing person. Ideally they would recruit who they thought would be the best cleaner and ironing person and all the other roles for tasks in the house. They would train them to their standard according to the needs of the house.

Other jobs include:

  • Making and changing the beds
  • Grocery shopping and unpacking
  • Stocktake on glassware and dining ware
  • Organising of closets and pantry
  • Household errands
  • Cleaning up after Dinner parties the next morning prior to the house waking – or managing someone to do that.


Maintenance Person:

There is going to be a lot of maintenance on the property, so ideally an ex-builder or someone who is capable and has knowledge on how to manage a house.  There is a huge amount of upkeep and the schedule will need to have someone capable and reliable to run this.

There is a lot of steel around the house and that is going to have be kept to perfect condition. The house will mainly be made of glass and therefore window cleaning will be a huge part of the job.

This person will work with the House Manager to build a maintenance schedule and ideally do as much of it as possible, but where required manage sub-contractors.

Other jobs include:

  • Washing cars
  • Household repairs
  • Managing the pool maintenance person
  • Exterior and interior window washing
  • Interior maintenance –including, but not limited to light bulbs, filters
  • Gardening, weed control, leaf raking, clearing of paths, planting/maintaining of trees and plants
  • Attending to gutters


Start Date:  January 2020

Salary: A$130,000  including Super (combined salary)
